• DeLille Cellars Chateau to be Renamed Chateau Lill

More than a quarter century ago, The Lill family helped establish the boutique winery phenomenon in Woodinville. They have garnered a loyal following for their Bordeauxstyle wines, and their DeLille Cellars Chateau in Woodinville—with its Old World ambience, rustic, romantic décor, and lush grounds dotted with gardens, a gazebo and ponds—has long been a popular venue for special events.

In order to maintain the intimate nature of the chateau while adding amenities to respond to the increasing demand for midweek events, Greg Lill, president emeritus and co-owner of the DeLille Cellars winery, and his wife and business partner, Stacy Lill, announced that effective spring 2019, the DeLille Chateau will be renamed Chateau Lill, and the winery, which had been headquartered there, will move offsite to the former Redhook Brewery. “We wanted to address the demand for groups, meetings and events that want to retreat or celebrate in a tranquil setting,” says Stacy. The Chateau can accommodate up to 120 guests indoors and 400 outdoors.

While Greg is staying on as co-owner of DeLille Cellars, he and Stacy will also continue to produce their own small-release, boutique wines under the Cashmere Partners label, which they launched in 2004. In addition, they plan to add a new line of lowerpriced wines for events, which will be available exclusively at Chateau Lill.

California is officially out of its drought, thanks to a very rainy winter, and among the many wonderful benefits is a spectacular flower season. Nowhere is this more resplendently in view than at The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch. I recently spent a couple of gorgeous hours touring the 50 acres of the working farm that are devoted to the Tecolote Giant Ranunculus, also known as the Persian Buttercup or Ranunculus Asiatic.

 

There was plenty going on for Global Meetings Industry Day on April 4 (the fourth annual Meetings Mean Business Coalition event), but NYC & Company caught everyone's attention by turning some of the city's most iconic buildings blue. Using MMBC’s signature color, the goal was to raise awareness of the impact that face-to-face meetings have on the global economy and NYC.
