In January, the Village of Rosemont celebrated its 60th anniversary—and boy has the community come far in that time, from an incorporated village with a burgeoning convention district to an all-out entertainment destination vital to locals and visitors traveling to and from the nearby O’Hare Airport. Not only does it boast the massive Allstate Arena and the largess of the Rosemont Theatre, but in the past few years its focus has turned to the growing popularity of MB Financial Park, the 200,000-square-foot complex that offers 13 eclectic venues and an outdoor area where summer concerts and a winter ice rink take center stage. Here’s a look at some of our favorite spots to “park” it:

» Sugar Factory: This full-service candy bar, ice cream parlor and semiprivate chocolate lounge (for 50 seated) is the sweetest. Though it sounds like it’s solely for kids, Sugar Factory turns into an adult party zone at night with a liquor license until 4 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

» Bub City/Joe’s Live: The newest venue in MB Financial Park is a match made in country heaven. The popular barbecue, beer and whiskey spot Bub City opened its first suburban location at the Park in February. It’s in partnership with Joe’s on Weed Street, which will be booking regular country concerts at the attached Joe’s Live music venue.

» Hofbrauhaus Chicago: The first German microbrewery in the Chicago area takes its cue from the 400-yearold tradition of Oktoberfest in Munich. Sausages and pretzels are met with beer steins and live music acts flown in from Europe that fill the large hall fitting up to 500 people.

» iFly Indoor Skydiving: If you want a team-building activity that takes it to another level, consider iFly. A vertical wind tunnel generates a draft of 80 to 175 miles per hour that creates a wall-to-wall cushion of air that makes you feel like you’re actually flying. A third location just opened in Lincoln Park.

» Fogo de Chao: A new corporate lunch is the talk of the town at this Brazilian steakhouse that offers guests tableside service of 16 different cuts of meat. A gourmet salad bar and expansive wine list round out the experience.

Other restaurants include Five Roses Pub, Park Tavern and Adobe Gila’s Margarita Fajita Cantina, while entertainment ranges from Zanies Comedy Night Club to Kings Lanes, Lounge & Sports and the Muvico Theater.

The time is right; the stage is set. Groups are ready to meet face to face again, and the four-star luxury hotel MGM Grand Detroit is ready to welcome you back.

According to MPI’s report “Spring 2021 Meetings Outlook,” three-quarters of meeting professionals predict a face-to-face event this calendar year. And that definitely rings true for Lisa Williams, executive director of sales for the hotel.

Destination Niagara USA designed its series of 360-degree videos with the purpose of allowing meeting planners to virtually explore meeting and event venues in Niagara Falls, NY. The introductory video, with its footage of scenic spots that include Niagara Falls State Park, Luna Island, Stedman’s Bluff and Cave of the Winds, could do double duty as a meditative app on a stressful day.

After a year that kept most explorers close to home, the newly transformed Rand Tower Hotel Minneapolis is ready to whisk guests away on a new adventure. With the completion of a $110 million-dollar transformation, the Jazz Age architectural icon that once housed office space has been reborn as a luxe 270-room boutique hotel.
