    Welcome to the Circus

Our circus soirée media event paid homage to the quintessential circus experience. The inspiration behind the event was our desire to put a modern spin on an old-fashioned circus. Entering the space, guests passed under a custom archway with the appearance of a red velvet curtain complete with playful lights. This installation perfectly set the tone for the theme of the evening and seamlessly transported guests into the whimsical space. To further immerse guests, cabanas found in the venue were fitted with red and white striped curtains to evoke the circus tent feel.

Throughout the space, guests were surrounded by a variety of floral arrangements filled with flowers such as dahlias, ranunculus, hydrangeas, orchids and roses in a rich red palette. In addition to these creations, customized event installations drew guests to different areas of the space. We created a 3D elephant using moss and flowers as well as an assortment of floral balloons. A colorful photo booth backdrop was fabricated using patterned pinwheels in a mix of reds, blacks, golds and creams; attendees posed for photos all night long in front of the backdrop.

Customized floral jewelry and accessories were on display and each guest was encouraged to wear a piece for the evening. We featured a mix of our signature pieces such as rings, cuffs, necklaces, earrings and bow ties. A combination of fresh and preserved flowers along with succulents and colorful feathers were used to create the accessories. A purple color scheme was the perfect complement to the circus theme.

Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres and sipped on a themed signature cocktail. As the sun set, draped string lights lit the patio, adding to the ambiance of the space. Before guests departed they received goodie bags containing a mix of items ranging from circus-themed animal crackers to mini vintage gumball machines.

The B Floral team set out to highlight our production capabilities and transport guests into a sophisticated circus environment. Through the use of color, one-of-akind installations and an eye for detail, we threw an event worthy of a night under the big top.

Imagine a playground for event professionals–where there’s no pressure to be somewhere or to stick to an agenda—and you’ve got Haute Dokimazo, HD for short. “There’s a time and place where education needs to happen, but we also, as senior event managers, sometimes need to talk to each other,” says Liz Lathan, chief experience officer at Haute Dokimazo.

“Cannabis can have a presence in the dinner entrées and the desserts at an event. One of our panel experts from the event, Chef Sunflower [aka Enid Parham], plans the meals with ‘microdoses’ of cannabis so there is not too much consumed at one time,” says Connie Seibt, event manager and vice president of programs and education, ILEA Detroit. “It should be planned ahead for the type of cannabis to infuse in the foods, i.e. providing a relaxing mood versus high energy.
