While you can always view the city of Chicago from one of the tallest buildings in the world, the Willis Tower, there’s a new way to see the vast landscape—from a helicopter hovering 100 stories high. Chicago Helicopter Experience is the latest option for meeting and event professionals to take their event to a whole new level. Guests can enjoy dinner, cocktails and entertainment before taking flight on a unique day or night tour that also provides a little history.

“We provide a convenient way for visitors to take in all the wonder the city has to offer, within a small window of time,” says Trevor Heffernan, founder and CEO of Chicago Helicopter Experience. “It provides meeting and event professionals with an unrivaled, high-touch experience to forever impress attendees.”

To promote the service, a regular afterhours bi-monthly event called HeliNights takes place at the Chicago Helicopter Experience Heliport with food from DineAmic Group, décor from Kehoe Designs and entertainment from The Music Trust. The inaugural event, held July 14, unveiled the newest addition to the fleet: the Airbus EC130 helicopter.

Rocky’s Ginger Beer and Russian Standard Vodka were also sponsors of the July event. Look for it to resume in the spring.

The key to maximizing success (and limiting risk) is for marketers to better understand how their audiovisual team works.

It is almost event day. You are excited, but you are also stressed.

You have spent the last few months preparing for your live stream: that big product launch, quarterly Town Hall, or video conference that your boss needs to go well. Your marketing and communications teams have been working hard, and everything appears ready.

The New York and New Jersey chapters of the National Association for Catering & Events (NACE), along with the Banquet Event Strategic Task Force (BEST Task Force), held an in-person gathering in August, their first since the start of the pandemic.
