AEG and PRISA Group to Build New Venue in Puerto Rico

AEG and PRISA Group have partnered with AEG Facilities to develop, manage and operate a new 6,000-seat concert and entertainment venue in San Jose, Puerto Rico; it is set to open in early 2019.

The 105,000-square foot facility will have the capacity to host a variety of functions, including events, concerts, banquets, festivals, award ceremonies and corporate events.

Hilton Announced Newest Initiative at IMEX

IMEX America, an expo for the travel, meetings and events industry, took place in Las Vegas on Oct. 10–12. There, Hilton announced and launched their new initiative, WowMakers, which will help recognize the hardworking professionals in the hospitality industry.

The program is intended to celebrate the 100,000-plus professionals in the industry by sharing their stories and helping them connect with others in the business—giving them the recognition they deserve.

New Leaders Appointed At Omni Berkshire Place

Omni Berkshire Place, located in midtown Manhattan, has named additions to its culinary leadership team. These include Douglas Solic, director of food and beverage, and Paul Fazio, executive chef. Both will work on financial, managerial and operational aspects of the hotel's culinary sector.

Solis has 20 years of experience in the New York City food and hospitality industry. After graduating from New York Restaurant School with honors, Solis has held positions at New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge, New York Marriott Marquis, Rock Center Café, Gramercy Tavern and more.

New Hampton Inn & Suites Opens in Schaumburg

Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Chicago Schaumburg is the most recent hotel to join the Hampton by Hilton brand. Located at 891 Plaza Drive, the hotel is owned and managed by Superhost Enterprise LLC.

The 107-room hotel is in the center of Schaumburg’s business district and in walking distance of Woodfield Mall and the Schaumburg Convention Center. They offer a range of amenities such as free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour business center with complimentary printing, a 594-square-foot meeting space that holds 24 people and a business center.

Lexington New York City Introduces New Meetings and Events Spaces

The Lexington New York City has recently undergone a $50 million renovation. The 725-room hotel, located in central Manhattan, has converted its S. Dynasty restaurant into a 5,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art meetings and events center. In addition, the hotel has two new meeting rooms—The Speakeasy and The Interlude—which are connected by the hotel’s Swing Room. These two room serve as the hotel’s main meeting rooms and have flexible furniture layouts that can accommodate up to 120 people.

K’Syrah Catering & Events Has Opened its Doors

In the heart of Santa Barbara Wine Country, K’Syrah Catering & Events has recently opened its doors. Located in downtown Solvang in Santa Ynez Valley, K’Sarah’s event space is a great addition to the area.

With only two other event spaces in Solvang, K’Sarah will offer flexible spaces and a great atmosphere. The spaces can hold up to 150 people, and they’re looking to host everything from wedding events to corporate and conference events.

New Executive Chef Appointed at Omni Fort Worth

Omni Fort Worth Hotel has appointed Amol Agarwal as their new executive chef. Having more than 20 years of experience, the seasoned chef will oversee Bob’s Steak & Chop House, Cast Iron Restaurant, Wine Thief, Whiskey & Rye, and Water Horse Pool Bar.

Agarwal studied cuisine at the Institute of Hotel management in Chennai, India. He started his career as the chef de partie at the Four Seasons in Goa, India. Since then he has worked all over the world, including China, Jamaica and the Maldives.
