Antlers at Vail Announces New Assistant General Manager

Antlers at Vail hired Kim Rediker as the new assistant general manager. Rediker will replace former assistant general manager Magda King, who was promoted to general manager after Rob LeVine’s retirement.

Rediker has lived in Vail since 1992 and has experience working in Vail hospitality at places like Simba Run Resort, the Inn & Suites at Riverwalk and Tivoli Lodge.

Hyatt Place Washington D.C. Goes Toy Shopping for Guests

The Hyatt Place Washington D.C./U.S. Capitol is continuing their annual tradition of serving as a Toys for Tots drop-off site. This year, they are offering to go toy shopping for their guests and locals who wish to give, but don’t have the time to shop.

Guests can also give funds to the cause by having a donation added to their account upon check-in. The hotel will accept toys between now and Dec. 7.

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts Expands Panama City Beach Resort

After completing a $30 million renovation, Sheraton Bay Point Resort, located in Panama City Beach, Fla., has reopened its doors.

Lin Schatz Appointed General Manager for Andaz Mayakoba Resort Riviera Maya

Andaz Mayakoba Resort Riviera Maya has named Lin Schatz as the general manage; she will oversee the opening of the property in December 2016 and manage the pre-opening stages and all property operations. Schatz, a hospitality and Hyatt veteran, started his career at Hyatt Hotels Corporation and has been there for more than 25 years. He previously served as the general manager for Andaz West Hollywood in Los Angeles and other locations including Hyatt Key West.

JW Marriott Minneapolis Honored By Condé Nast Magazine

The JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America, which opened in November 2015, has been honored by Condé Nast’s Traveler magazine as the Best In The World 2016 Reader’s Choice Award.

The magazine raved about the 321-room, 21-suite hotel especially its skyway access to the Mall. Additionally, Traveler praised JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America’s restaurant, Cedar + Stone, Urban Table. The magazine highlighted the heart New American dishes and the restaurant’s extensive craft brew selection.

Hilton Crystal City Gives Back to Charities and Meeting Planners

Believe it or not, the holidays are coming, and that means the season for giving is right around the corner. Hilton Crystal City at Washington Reagan National Airport in Arlington, Va., managed by Crescent Hotels & Resorts, is donating up to $250 to a charity in the name of each meeting planner who books an event.

The hotel has been giving back to charities both locally and nationally for years, working with foundations such as Wreaths Across America, Wounded Warriors, Toys for Tots and many more.

Antlers at Vail’s General Manager Retires

Rob LeVine, the general manager of Antlers at Vail, has retired from his 29-year tenure at the hotel. In his honor, they have renamed the conference center after him.

“After all the many wonderful and gratifying experiences that I've enjoyed in the hospitality industry over the years, none outweighs the incredible honor of having the Antlers meeting facility bearing my name,” says LeVine. “Very simply, I am fortunate beyond words.”

Lisa Timbo Appointed General Manager of JW Marriott Chicago

JW Marriott Chicago has announced the appointment of Lisa Timbo to the role of general manager. Timbo, a Chicago native, has been in the industry for 30 years

Previously, she served as general manager at the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center since 2010.
