Family-owned and -operated catering brand and event venue, Grateful Palate Catering & Events, recently underwent an interior renovation, which was inspired by the success of the recently launched second floor private event space at its sister property Shooters Waterfront.

"The goal was to create a more modern and upscale setting for group events," says Meghan Leckey, owner of Grateful Palate Catering & Events. The renovation was inspired by the fantasy of flight and nature at large and designed by Deborah Frustino of Mountainside Design. A serene vibe with birds as the featured creature focal point, the space has a calming deep blue color palate to echo the venue's unique waterfront location, overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway. Plus, the floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors offer uninterrupted views.

"Grateful Palate Catering & Events has been celebrating the milestones of multiple generations of families for decades, which has earned the event space an impeccable reputation," Leckey says. "The location on the water, indoor/outdoor flexible space and proximity to Shooters Waterfront, we have the capability to do buyouts of the entire property among both venues on a master account."

Leckey says the property is designed to accommodate both sit-down dinners and standing receptions with optional add-ons such as the Oasis and Tiki Bar. "Located along the water in Fort Lauderdale, a premier destination for group events including executive retreats, corporate functions, incentive trips, LGBT groups, weddings and social functions, the venue brings the outside indoors, creating synergy among both spaces," she adds.

Grateful Palate Catering & Events boasts a dedicated culinary team, menus created by the executive chef, a professional service staff, WiFi access and A/V capabilities, complimentary boat dockage for yacht and watercraft arrivals, and valet.

The Austin Marriott Downtown is raising a glass to the completion of its structural framework, literally. Instead of raising the “final beam,” the hotel held a “topping-off” event where guests watched a large crane raise three Garrison Brothers bourbon barrels onto the hotel’s rooftop, in collaboration with local spirit masters Garrison Brothers Distillery.

Tampa Marriott Water Street revealed its multi-phase renovation, including extensive enhancements to the 727 guest rooms, more than 40,000 square feet of meeting spaces, the lobby, and two new and original restaurant concepts by chef and restaurateur Richard Sandoval.
