Located in Skokie, the Holiday Inn & Suites Chicago North Shore recently completed a hotel-wide facelift. Perfect for larger scale events, the hotel has undergone a complete revamp of all 250 guest rooms, public spaces and meeting and event spaces.

The hotel recently had its license renewed for the next 15 years, which was the impetus for the remodel, which covers “every corner of the hotel,” according to Sheila Lakhani Gilani, COO of Lakhani Hospitality. “We’ve also added some smaller rooms to our meeting space that are perfect for break-out groups.”

New amenities include the addition of 50 junior suites that contain ample outlets and technological amenities to accommodate the modern traveler. Guests will enjoy the hotel’s updated design, which consists of a clean and fresh aesthetic. Each new room features customized artwork that offers pops of color and pays homage to the Chicago skyline.

New AV capabilities are also an addition. “The team is really excited about the new cove lighting with the capability to change color schemes. We have a fall wedding coming up with a sunset theme and we are envisioning with the bride and groom the capability to have the cove lights “move across the sky” in shades of yellow, red, orange and purple to create the look of a sunset across the ceiling,” adds Toni Mengarelli, director of catering for Holiday Inn & Suites Chicago North Shore.

In total, Holiday Inn & Suites Chicago North Shore comprises 15,000 square feet of meeting and event space that can accommodate up to 100 for a seated banquet or up to 1,000 for larger events. The hotel’s largest ballroom lacks pillars and other barriers, making it a versatile option perfect for anything from corporate luncheons to weddings. Customizable event menus and packages are also available.

The hotel was built in the 1960s and has had multiple renovations over the years. Despite all of these changes, Gilani says certain qualities of the hotel remain timeless. “One of the things I feel like you see a lot in hotels are name and branding changes. This hotel is one of the original Holiday Inn & Suites, so we've always been a Holiday Inn.” Mengarelli agrees on the timelessness of the hotel: “We have many families where we are doing weddings for two and three siblings... it is always such a privilege to be selected for the second and third time as the venue for such an important day. Even more of an honor when they tell us we are like family!”

Located right off of I-94, Holiday Inn & Suites Chicago North Shore is stationed between Chicago and O’Hare International Airport, just 15 minutes outside of the city.

The Austin Marriott Downtown is raising a glass to the completion of its structural framework, literally. Instead of raising the “final beam,” the hotel held a “topping-off” event where guests watched a large crane raise three Garrison Brothers bourbon barrels onto the hotel’s rooftop, in collaboration with local spirit masters Garrison Brothers Distillery.

Tampa Marriott Water Street revealed its multi-phase renovation, including extensive enhancements to the 727 guest rooms, more than 40,000 square feet of meeting spaces, the lobby, and two new and original restaurant concepts by chef and restaurateur Richard Sandoval.

Tattersall Distilling reveals its first event space, Clover Club. Adjacent to the original Tattersall building, Clover Club is a 7,000-square-foot with 2,400 square feet used as the event space and the rest dedicated to barrel storage.
