Hotel Nikko San Francisco Completes Three-Month $60 Million Renovation

Merely steps from San Francisco’s Union Square, Hotel Nikko unveiled a $60 million renovation this spring. The three-month renovation commemorates the Landmark hotel’s 30th anniversary. Hirsch Bedner Associates leads the contemporary revamp of the hotel’s interior, taking inspiration from the Nikko’s Japanese heritage. The fresh look and updates encompass 405 of the 533 guest rooms, the suites, lobby, public areas, third floor ballroom, meeting spaces, infrastructure and technology

Graves Hospitality Announces Closing of Bradstreet Craftshouse

Graves Hospitality has proposed plans for a future development on the current site that will necessitate the immediate closing of Bradstreet Craftshouse in Minneapolis.

The restuarant opened in 2009 in the downtown Minneapolis Graves 601 Hotel. In 2014, Graves Hospitality sold the hotel and the Bradstreet concept was moved to the Lowry Hill neighborhood of Minneapolis. It opened again in 2015. In approximately 14 months, Bradstreet will open within the InterContinental Hotel, which will be directly connected by skyway to Terminal One of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport.

Olympia Hotel Management has been chosen to manage Hyatt Place & Hyatt House Quad Cities in East Moline, Illinois. The showcase hotel project features the 134-room Hyatt Place hotel and 99-room Hyatt House hotel.

Visit Milwaukee recently hired three new employees to its marketing and communications team. Claire Hanan, communications manager, and Emily Tau, communications coordinator, will work with travel writers to showcase the best of the Greater Milwaukee area and increase the economic impact of tourism in the region. Amanda Buhrman joined the marketing team as digital marketing manager. Buhrman will lead Visit Milwaukee’s website redesign and will be responsible for all digital marketing efforts.

Sheraton Miami Airport Hotel Transformation is Complete

The Puccini Group, an internationally recognized hospitality firm, has completed its $10 million renovation of the Sheraton Miami Airport Hotel & Executive Meeting Center. The transformation includes all 405 guest rooms, the lobby, outdoor pool, and entryway of the property. The hotel, while still remaining true to the original Sheraton atmosphere and style many guests know and love, now features a modern tropical-resort-like feel.

Fairmont Pittsburgh Attracts Jean-Paul Lourdes to Lead New Restaurant Concept

Fairmont Pittsburgh announced its  soon-to-be revealed restaurant concept, which will replace Habitat and open in late September.

Jean-Paul Lourdes, executive chef and newest member to the Fairmont Pittsburgh team will lead the restaurant.

“We are very excited to welcome Jean-Paul. His background is immensely impressive and we are fortunate to have his talent to lead the culinary direction of our new restaurant,” says Matthew Sterne, general manager.
