• Hotel Hershey Appoints New General Manager

After 14 years of service as Hotel Hershey’s general manager, Brian O’Day has announced his retirement effective April 30, 2017. Taking his place will be current assistant general manager, Bill Hendrix.

As general manager Hendrix will oversee the entire operation of The Hotel Hershey and Hershey Laundry and Cleaning. The hotel, built by chocolate tycoon Milton S. Hershey, features 276 guest rooms and a surplus of amenities such as a spa, three restaurants and more than 25,000 square feet of meeting space.

In addition to his tenure at The Hotel Hershey, Hendrix brings more than 23 years of experience in the hotel and resort industries, including five years at Ritz-Carlton properties and seven years with Four Seasons.

“Bill has proven to be a skilled leader during his time at The Hotel Hershey,” says John Lawn, president and COO, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Company. “His success and service to our company, supplemented by his experience at premier hospitality companies across the country, make him the perfect person to fill the general manager role at the Hotel.”

Results from the Incentive Research Foundation’s (IRF) 2022 Incentive Travel Destination Preferences & Their Impact on Motivation confirmed that interest in incentive travel as a motivating sales reward is at an all-time high. 91% of 405 survey respondents described group incentive travel as extremely or very motivating compared to 80% last year. Individual incentive travel was rated even higher as a motivational award at 96% versus 84% last year.
