Z Resort’s luxury Hotel ZaZa Austin is now open in the Warehouse District of downtown Austin. Texas charm fuses with the city’s urban essence throughout the new property’s 8,500 square feet of meeting and event space, three beverage and dining concepts, 159 guest rooms, full-service spa and rooftop pool.

Hotel ZaZa Austin, designed by Texas-based interior design firm Design Duncan Miller Ullman, includes King and Double King rooms as well as the brand’s signature Magnificent Seven Suites and four Concept Suites each characterized by its own theme. Guests can choose the retro Palm Springs-inspired Bungalow 6 Suite incorporating intricate patterns and mod furniture, or maybe even the rock ‘n’ roll themed Back Stage Pass King Suite draped with animal prints, leather, velvet and array of striking furnishings and art. Available in each room is Hotel ZaZa’s renowned candle-lit turndown with melatonin, water and chocolate truffles.

Leading the food and beverage concepts are Jacob Weaver, corporate director of food and beverage; Daniel Hatcher, chef de cuisine; and David Esquibel, director of outlet operations.

One of three culinary concepts is Perfect Strangers, located on ground level with leather booths, marble mosaic flooring and outdoor seating. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, guests are able to enjoy handcrafted cocktails, light fare and other contemporary entrees daily.

Located on the seventh floor overlooking Republic Square, Group Therapy is Hotel ZaZa’s craft cocktail bar adjacent to the pool deck and poolside Cabana Bar. Cocktails pair well with the seventh floor’s live music venue, “Stage Fright”.

Accommodating groups of 24 to 295, Hotel ZaZa offers six unique spaces for meetings and events. The Gold Standard Ballroom, Toasts & Tributes Ballroom and Don’t Mess with Texas are the property’s other recommended venues. Natural lighting, high ceilings, exposed brick, ornate chandeliers and large windows beautifully provide sophisticated space.

After several months of renovations, the DoubleTree by Hilton Philadelphia-Valley Forge is now open as the Alloy – King of Prussia, a DoubleTree by Hilton.

After almost 20 years of vacancy, the Cook County Hospital in Chicago will be put to use once again. A $150 million adaptive reuse project restored the historic, 106-year-old hospital, which has become a combined Hyatt Place and Hyatt House hotel, as well as medical offices, a museum, a food hall and more. While the opening is multi-phased, the hotels are scheduled to open in late July.

Doctors, nurses, grocery store employees and more were essential to sustaining the continued stay-at-home orders that helped fight the spread of COVID-19. Such workers put their health at risk for the benefit of society, and Nakoma Resort and the Lost Sierra Chamber of Commerce want to recognize them for their efforts through the “Send Your Heroes” campaign.
