Hyatt Lodge Oak Brook Chicago, located in the Chicago suburb of Oak Brook, announced on Jan. 30 the appointment of Leonard Ventura as its executive chef. He brings more than 30 years of culinary experience to the new role where he will oversee the hotel’s two culinary destinations, Hearth Lounge and Water’s Edge. The former serves upscale pub fare paired with a curated menu of beer, wine, and cocktails. The latter offers all-day classic American cuisine and features a lakeside patio.

“We are so thrilled to have Executive Chef Ventura join the Hyatt Lodge Oak Brook Chicago team,” says Adam Henrikson, general manager of the hotel, in a prepared statement. “Through his unwavering skill and palette, Chef Ventura is the perfect addition for elevating our dining and food service team.”

Ventura’s culinary passion stems from his family’s rich history and passion for cooking, and he later attended both the Dumas Pere L’Ecole de la Cuisine Francaise in Chicago and the Culinary Institute of America’s Napa campus. During this time, he honed his skills in French cooking techniques and received his Intermediate Sommelier Certificate to strengthen his talents in wine pairing. As of now, Ventura shows expertise in exploring French, Italian, Spanish, Middle Eastern, and Japanese cuisines.

He previously held the position of executive chef for 10 years at the Dolce Hotel and Conference Center in Dallas, Texas.
