By M+E Staff

The Snow & Ice Management Association (SIMA) is hosting its 18th Annual Snow & Ice Symposium in Schaumburg, IL from June 24-27 at the Schaumburg Renaissance Hotel & Convention Center. The event will include a trade show, speakers, educational sessions and networking events for snow and ice industry professionals.

“SIMA is excited to return to Schaumburg, the site of the 14th Annual Snow & Ice Symposium in 2011, which was our highest attended Symposium ever,” said Martin Tirado, CAE, SIMA CEO. “We look forward to the show as a way for snow and ice professionals to gain new ideas, share challenges and successes, and check out the latest industry equipment and services, all in one place.”

On June 24, there will be two pre-conference workshops, one with an emphasis on operation and the other on sales training. There will also be two keynote speakers. Sasha Strauss is presenting “Branding is the New Normal” on June 25 and Joel Zeff is presenting “The Tao of Ta Da – Watch What Happens When Work Becomes Play” on June 26.

The symposium will feature a two day trade show with the latest equipment and services from over 100 exhibitors. There will be an interactive “Best Practices Pavilion” where guests can learn about SIMA’s Best Practices Checklist. There will be 21 educational sessions on topics ranging from employee development to ice management. There will be “Snack & Chat” roundtable discussions where attendees can network and discuss tips regarding snow and ice topics. Finally, the SIMA Awards & Recognition Night will honor the best in snow and ice.
