The Omni Chicago hotel property recently announced the completion of an $11 million renovation. The project transformed 347 suites, including 10 specialty suites. In addition, all public space within the property was updated, including the 676 Restaurant & Bar, the hotel’s nine meeting rooms, and its 8,000 square feet of meeting space.
Each guest room now features two high definition televisions, memory foam pillows and new lighting. The renovation style forges historical elements of Louis Sullivan’s sketches and the Chicago School’s building materials of terracotta, limestone, steel and brick with modern sculptures synonymous with the city. The rooms also incorporate unique architectural elements and distinctive lighting that combine to mirror the Chicago skyline, which evolves to take on a new identity each nightfall.
676 Restaurant & Bar underwent a transformation to create a more intimate setting for guests. New lighting highlights a new sepia mural that wraps around the room. New art was also placed in the two semi-private dining rooms. The restaurant also received new tables, chairs, bar stools, carpet and lounge furniture.
Meeting spaces were changed to offer additional seating and improved decoration. New drapes, chairs, carpet and counter tops were added in the Chagall Ballroom, Picasso Ballroom and Executive Boardroom. The property also added a new meeting room called the Van Gogh Room. It features 1,624 square feet of meeting space with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Michigan Avenue. The room can accommodate up to 120 people. The hotel now features a total of 8,000 square feet of meeting space.
