James Beard award-winning Chef Tony Mantuano and Executive Chef John Hogan are introducing River Roast, an American tavern-style dining and social house on the water in Chicago. Terry Kane is joining the duo as general manager.
“John and I have wanted to do something together for years,” said Mantuano. “River Roast is the perfect opportunity for us to combine creative forces and produce something truly unique to the Chicago culinary scene.”
The restaurant, which is set to open on July 17, will showcase an open kitchen, six private event spaces for groups from 10-1,000, a waterfront patio and two spacious bars led by beverage director Chris Jecha.
The menu will feature American fare, including roasts of chicken, whole fish and beef, charcuterie board, oysters and lobster sliders. The restaurant also boasts an extensive beer selection focusing on large format sour and Belgian beers, craft cocktails, beertails and wine.
