What is the best place for winter fun in the Chicago area? MB Financial Park at Rosemont’s Frozemont. Complete with winter tubing, ice skating, a hockey series and fun for the whole family.
“Falling temperatures are no reason to retreat indoors,” said Rosemont Mayor Brad Stephens. “MB Financial Park has a great series of winter attractions that make sure that every visitor has a great time, no matter what temperature.”
The feature of Frozemont is the four-story “Polar Peak,” which will take guests on an exciting 260-foot tube ride from Dec. 12-Jan, 19. The event is sponsored by “Disney on Ice presents Frozen” and constructed in partnership with Stack Box Structures. Polar Peak features five lanes, including a less steep lane for children. Tickets for the Polar Peak are on sale now.
On Dec. 27 and 28 Polar Peak will host Shovel Racing and a Sled Box Derby with more details to come.
There is also an NHL-sized ice rink that will be making a reappearance and is free to the public. The Village of Rosemont will be initiating the holiday season with a tree lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28 with the event including a skating performance, free sleigh rides, and an appearance by Santa. Skating in the park will be open until March 1 with free admission and skate rentals available for $8.
Other Frozemont winter activities include the Winter Frost Face Off hockey series that runs Jan. 9-March 1.
