Chicago-based United Airlines rolled out numerous tech upgrades for customers, making it a whole lot easier to make connecting flights and be entertained while on board. Connections information is newly available through the United Airlines app, and the entertainment content launched on 130,000-plus seatback screens; United’s newest aircraft will soon have industry-leading 27-inch, 4K OLED screens. Recently announced new features include:
- Flight status updates and a notification if a passenger’s connecting flight is being held
- Turn-by-turn directions and estimated walk times between gates in United hubs
- Self-service rebooking if a traveler misses a connection
- Free select Apple TV+ hit shows, including “Severance,” “Ted Lasso,” “Slow Horses,” and “Silo”
- Gratis Spotify-curated playlists, audiobooks, and video podcasts
