• Joie de Vivre Hotels Announced New Appointments at Hotel Becket

Joie de Vivre Hotels announced new personnel appointments at Hotel Becket, the brand’s new property, which opened in South Lake Tahoe. The property named Gregg Harper general manager, while Kate Brown and Warren Martineau will lead the sales and marketing team.

The announcements come on the heel of the Park Tahoe Inn and 968 Park Tahoe combining into Hotel Becket, a 167-room hotel. The property will have a modern, rustic design. They will also offer top-of-the-line guest services, including pet-friendly programs, ski valet services, the Ten Crows Restaurant and more than 1,000 square feet of meeting space.

“We’ve built an experienced team that knows the Lake Tahoe market and community, and has extensive experience opening hotels,” says Craig Waterman, regional director of operations, Joie de Vivre. “Gregg has launched several successful hotels, whereas Kate and Warren have lived and worked in the Lake Tahoe region for decades building successful properties. We believe we’ve got the formula for success at Hotel Becket.”

Harper has more than 30 years of experience in the hotel, resort and private club industries. He has worked at properties from Florida to Washington at resorts like Suncadia, Kessler Canyon, and Ocean Hammock. Harper previously worked as the general manager of Salishan Spa & Golf Resort in Oregon and is experienced in both large resorts and smaller boutique operations.

Brown has more than 20 years of experience in the industry. Brown will head the hotel’s sales, marketing, public relation and branding efforts. With a degree in business administration from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, Brown has gained extensive experience at hotels like the Grand Sierra Resort, Starwood and Northstar.

Martineau, who has spent the majority of his career in the Lake Tahoe area brings more than 15 years of hospitality to his new role. His most previous position was the opening director of sales for The Landing Resort and Spa. Martineau is an active part of the community and has been on the sales committee for the Lake Tahoe Authority and Chamber of Commerce for years.

This September, Los Angeles Airport Marriott is beginning the final stage of their $50-million renovations.  

The redesign includes more than 50,000 square feet of meeting space alongside a maximum capacity of 2,500 people. The hotel will be set to host parties of any nature, including Corporate events, conventions, company retreats, holiday parties, banquets, exhibitions, workshops, and everything in between.
