• Kimpton Lorien Appoints Director of Sales and Marketing

Kimpton Lorien Hotel & Spa in Old Town Alexandria, Va., has announced the appointment of Jennifer Montgomery to director of sales and marketing.

Montgomery brings nearly 30 years of hospitality experience. In her new role, she will oversee the hotel’s dedicated sales and catering team, providing leadership and support. The catering team is known for their ability to execute weddings, meetings and events of up to 125 guests.

Montgomery’s days will consist of planning and implementing strategies for all group, transient and leisure business segments, revenue, digital marketing, advertising and public relations efforts for the hotel.

Montgomery’s first job in the hospitality industry was working for a riverboat casino as a player’s club manager. She then worked as a reservation and group sales manager with Marriott in New Orleans. Montgomery moved on to work with independent boutique hotels LePavillon Hotel and Bourbon Orleans Hotel, and eventually moved to the Washington area where stepped into manager roles with Marriott, Wyndham and Renaissance prior to joining Kimpton Hotel Monaco Baltimore Inner Harbor as associate director of sales in 2009. After assuming her first director of sales roles with the St. Gregory Hotel and Modus Hotels, Montgomery returned to Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in 2015.

Most recently Montgomery was at Kimpton’s Carlyle Hotel Dupont Circle and Glover Park Hotel in Washington, D.C., where she was the opening associate director of sales for both hotels. While there, she managed the hotels’ combined sales team and sold across market segments.

Montgomery graduated from the University of Maryland University College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and considers the Washington metro area home.\
