The 153-room Lake Yellowstone Hotel, one of the oldest national park hotels in the country, is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year in tandem with the National Park Service recognizing its centennial. Featuring Colonial Revival architecture, the hotel completed a $28 million renovation in 2014 and is a member of Historic Hotels of America. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, construction commenced in 1889 when Yellowstone was the country’s only national park and opened two years later after construction concluded at a cost of $46,000. The hotel, operated by Yellowstone National Lodges, features lakeside and standard rooms as well as lakeside suites and the presidential suite once used by President Calvin Coolidge.
