ILEA Announces Partnership with IBTM Events

The International Live Events Association is partnering with ibtm events as part of Reed Travel Exhibitions.

ibtm is now a part of the exclusive group of organizations within ILEA’s Global Partners program. Including Giants Enterpries, CORT and VisitScotland Business Events. ibtm will be exposed to ILEA’s 5,000 international members.

This collaboration will allow ILEA to continue its global expansion and offers up a portfolio of events such as the annual tradeshow in Barcelona.

Downtown Denver’s Kimpton Hotel Monaco has appointed two new members to their team: Victoria Noe as director of catering and Brittany Gripp as group sales manager. Noe and Gripp have years of experience in management from local Denver properties.

The Metro Toronto Convention Centre Launches Impressive South Building Modification

The Metro Toronto Convention Centre announced that its South Building is undergoing a $23 million renovation and modification, which will include 10 new meeting rooms, offering an additional 13,000 square feet of event space. Tvsdesigns and IA Interior Architects will guide the renovation, projected to complete in early 2018.

Le Meridien Chicago-Oakbrook Center Appoints General Manager

Paul E. Cardona has been appointed the new general manager of Le Meridien Chicago-Oakbrook Center. He brings more than 22 years of hotel experience to his latest position.

Wayzata Hotel to be Minnesota’s Latest Wedding Venue

Downtown Wayzata is getting a new wedding venue, The Hotel Landing, set to open in summer 2017. It will be the first hotel on the shoreline of Lake Minnetonka in more than 50 years.

For wedding parties, the hotel has a 2,710-square-foot ballroom, a bridal sweet, a Nordic spa, a two-story restaurant and 92 guest rooms. The hotel is in the heart of downtown and within walking distances of countless restaurants and shops.

New Hotel Dossier To Open In Summer 2017

Provenance Hotels is opening a new hotel, Dossier, in downtown Portland. The 205-room hotel is slated to open in the summer of 2017 and will be located at SW Park Ave. and SW Alder St. The property will have an intimate feel and provide a place of refuge for busy travelers.

Splacer Debuts In Los Angeles

Splacer, an online marketplace for event spaces, has expanded to the Los Angeles market. At its debut, the market had 140 listings available to book for meetings and events, including villas, lofts, museums, theaters and more.

Hotel Hershey Appoints New General Manager

After 14 years of service as Hotel Hershey’s general manager, Brian O’Day has announced his retirement effective April 30, 2017. Taking his place will be current assistant general manager, Bill Hendrix.

As general manager Hendrix will oversee the entire operation of The Hotel Hershey and Hershey Laundry and Cleaning. The hotel, built by chocolate tycoon Milton S. Hershey, features 276 guest rooms and a surplus of amenities such as a spa, three restaurants and more than 25,000 square feet of meeting space.
