Jackie Antonucci was recently hired as sales manager for Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau in Zelienople, Pa.

1. What are you looking forward to in your new role as sales manager at Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau? Meeting all our members and contributing to its growth in this area.

2. How do you think your past industry experience has prepared you for this role?  My past experience involves working at a large corporation in the city of Philadelphia, with a big focus on the hospitality industry.  I was lucky enough to be connected to the convention center and a part of various groups, including Party Partners of Philadelphia, which I co-founded. PPP  taught me what it means to grow relationships and referrals in your industry at the same time as finding some of the best friends in that city. I also just graduated with my MBA with a global perspective, which assists with approaching inbound travel globally.

3. What goals do you have in mind for the Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau this year and further down the line? I want to grow the meetings and tour and travel markets in this emerging area. I am hoping to become an expert on all things Butler County while connecting with as many people as possible. Partnerships are part of survival in this industry and I hope to create and maintain partnerships so that continued development is successful.

4. How did you get into the industry? I started in this industry when I was in college at Temple University for my undergrad degree. I worked on campus as a server and bartender and then took a job at Hard Rock Cafe serving. I eventually moved up to bartender, sales coordinator and then sales manager.

5. What do you enjoy most about the tourism industry? Definitely the people and networking.  You are always learning a new concept, making a new friend or colleague, or traveling to a new city for a convention or trade show.  This industry is demanding, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.
