For meeting and event planners looking to pair business with an unforgettable craft beer experience, Grand Rapids might be just the destination you need. The city once again claimed the title of Best Beer City in the U.S. in the 2025 USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards—an honor it has now secured for five consecutive years.

According to USA Today, a panel of experts and USA Today 10Best editors curated a list of 20 contenders based on the strength of their beer culture. The criteria for selection included a well-established and growing craft beer scene; a strong lineup of beer bars, breweries, brewpubs, and beer festivals; and a thriving home-brewing community where new brewers can get started.

Grand Rapids didn’t just make the list—it topped it. This recognition shines a light on the city’s ever-growing beer scene, which boasts more than 40 craft breweries within a 30-minute drive, offering everything from small-batch experimental brews to award-winning beers. This means a wealth of unique venues, brewery tours, and customizable experiences to enhance conferences, corporate retreats, and networking events.

“Despite stiff national competition, the Grand Rapids brewing community simply can’t be beat,” says Kate Lieto, vice president of marketing at Experience Grand Rapids, in a prepared statement. “We are so proud of the people who have built this industry in our region. Beyond helping to drive the regional tourism economy, their dedication has helped build the character of this community.”

As you plan your next Grand Rapids event, encourage attendees to explore the city’s breweries via the Beer City Brewsader app, where you can find and tour new breweries, complete challenges, and earn prizes.
