The Michigan Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus (MACVB), comprised of 51 member organizations, recently announced its newly elected panel of officers for 2025—consisting of experienced tourism and hospitality leaders from across the state.
Julie Pingston, president and CEO of Choose Lansing, is now serving as MACVB president. A longtime contributor to the organization, Pingston previously held the role of treasurer and brings extensive leadership experience to her new position. “I am honored and excited to have been selected to serve as MACVB’s president for 2025,” Pingston says in a prepared statement. “As an organization, we will work throughout the year to create opportunities for Michigan destinations through advocacy, partnership, and collaboration to enhance the state’s economy. It’s going to be a busy year in the tourism and hospitality industry, and I look forward to the advancements we will make together.”
The other newly elected officers include:
- Vice President: Brad Barnett, executive director, Visit Keweenaw
- Secretary: Jen Sistrunk, executive director, South Haven Visitors Bureau
- Treasurer: Bob Lukens, community development director, Visit Muskegon
