The 2024 NFL Draft will be held April 25-27 in Detroit. The dates were recently disclosed, following up the announcement one year ago that Detroit would be the host city—a first for the Motor City.

“It’s another great day in the Detroit region, with the official announcement of dates for the 2024 NFL Draft,” Visit Detroit President and CEO Claude Molinari says in a press release. “Fans locally and across the nation can now mark their calendars and plan their visit for a celebration of football and Detroit hospitality.”

With the dates now known, Molinari says planning will intensify and Visit Detroit will continue collaborating with the City of Detroit, the Detroit Lions, Downtown Detroit Partnership, and other stakeholders to ensure the success of the event. Visit Detroit’s mission is to attract large-scale events and activities that draw in residents from across the region.

The 2024 NFL Draft site will be centered around Campus Martius Park and Hart Plaza downtown. Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to attend the three-day event, with millions more watching from around the world. Fans who attend in person will be able to participate in the NFL Draft Experience, the National Football League’s interactive football theme park that provides free participatory games, interactive exhibits, entertainment, autograph sessions, and an opportunity for photos with the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Molinari says the 2024 NFL Draft will have a huge economic impact on the city. Not only will it drive spending on hotel stays, restaurants, shopping, and attractions, it will provide an opportunity to show off  Detroit’s resurgence.

“Recent NFL Draft economic impacts from the NFL range from $94 million in Philadelphia to $133 million in Nashville,” he says. “We anticipate the Draft in Detroit will generate a significant economic impact from the fans who visit our city and region.”

The 2023 NFL Draft is being held April 27-29 in Kansas City.
