Detroit’s events landscape is leveling up with the opening of The Department at Hudson’s—a new collection of event spaces designed to elevate meetings, conferences, and gatherings of all sizes. The latest development at Hudson’s Detroit, The Department at Hudson’s offers a refined, high-tech, and flexible venue for corporate and social gatherings.
Spanning 56,000 square feet across three floors, the collection is complete with 15 customizable spaces that can accommodate up to 2,000 guests. Thanks to the architectural design prowess of SHoP Architects, the venue boasts features such as expansive wraparound terraces, advanced soundproofing, custom dividers, concert-level audiovisual technology, retractable seating for up to 336 attendees, and more.
With more than 33,000 square feet of event space, the second floor is designed for large-scale events such as corporate seminars, conventions, trade shows, product launches, galas, fundraisers, and private social gatherings. Featuring four versatile halls, covered balconies, and a prefunction space, this level offers flexibility to configure spaces for events of varying scales.
On the third floor, 19,000 square feet of space spans across nine rooms, providing a more intimate setting tailored for board meetings, executive retreats, workshops, training sessions, VIP dinners, and private networking events. Each space is equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual technology and built-in serveries, while the wraparound prefunction area allows for seamless transitions between meetings.
Marriott International will manage sales and marketing for The Department at Hudson’s, leveraging its global network and expertise in luxury event planning. Meanwhile, Forte Belanger, Detroit’s premier catering and hospitality provider, will oversee event execution and serve as the exclusive food and beverage partner. Together with Rock Events, these companies will leverage their extensive experience to produce events at the venue.
