Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids released its 2026 calendar of events—including major exhibitions showcasing the work of glass artist Dale Chihuly and sculptor Jaume Plensa.

From May 2 through Nov. 1, Meijer Gardens hosts its third exhibition with Chihuly, “CHIHULY at Meijer Gardens,” featuring both indoor and outdoor works. Three of the artist’s twisting, twirling glass installations are already part of the venue’s permanent collection, at home alongside the gardens’ sprawling organic features. The upcoming exhibition will include work from the artist’s oeuvre, in addition to new pieces responding to natural and architectural elements of the Meijer Gardens campus.

Chihuly’s artwork can be found all around the gardens and galleries during the exhibition—including in event spaces such as the Tassell-Wisner-Bottrall English Perennial Garden and the Stuart and Barbara Padnos Rooftop Sculpture Garden. The main “Radiant Forms” exhibition will require timed ticket purchase for event attendees, and planners can work with the on-site events team to coordinate tours for an additional fee.

“Jaume Plensa: A New Humanism” is currently on view through March 15, featuring both small and large works by the sculptor, best known for his public art and perspective-shifting works that play upon scale, dimension, and the human form. Additional highlights announced for the first half of the year ahead include a large tropical butterfly exhibition in the conservatory (from March 1 through April 30) and a summer concert series in the amphitheater (dates forthcoming).

Each of these noteworthy exhibitions and special events make for inspiring experiences for your attendees—outside the conference rooms among lively surroundings. The 158-acre campus has multiple event spaces; offers exclusive, high-end catering; provides state-of-the-art audiovisual services; and employs a dedicated professional events team and robust tech support for groups of five to 1,200.
