The Inn at Bay Harbor left Marriott International’s portfolio in late October and is now an independent operation, no longer affiliated with a large hotel chain. The resort overlooking Little Traverse Bay, which remains owned and operated by Petoskey-based Boyne Resorts, spent more than two decades as part of the Marriott portfolio, first as a Renaissance Golf Resort beginning in 2003 and later as part of the Autograph Collection starting in 2016.
“This represents an exciting evolution for the Inn at Bay Harbor,” says Schuyler Clark, president and general manager at Inn at Bay Harbor, in a prepared statement. “We remain committed to the quality and warmth that has always defined this property while looking forward to new opportunities to enhance the guest experience.”

The resort remains well equipped for meeting groups, providing six versatile venues, plus its seasonal Bay Harbor Golf Club located just 3 miles away. Full-service banquet services also are available, with options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, such as its Everett’s Lunch Buffet with house-made soups and an assortment of wraps and sandwiches. Activities abound with the resort’s 45 holes of golf among its three Bay Harbor Golf Club courses and Crooked Tree Golf Club course, rentable e-bikes and beach cruisers, lawn games, and on-site spa.
For on-site dining, attendees can enjoy four options at Inn at Bay Harbor and one within the Bay Harbor Golf Club. For breakfast with a view, The Sagamore Room offers windows that overlook the bay, as well as a menu of breakfast cocktails and other items; Vintage Chophouse–Wine Bar provides an all-American steakhouse atmosphere; Inn Cafe serves up made-to-order espresso drinks and convenient grab-and-go items; and Afternoon Tea delivers a signature tea service that is relaxed and accessible for a memorable group experience. For an after-golf bite, The Links Grille’s menu of sharables, burgers, and more is available seasonally at Bay Harbor Golf Club from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
