The Michigan Central Mezz, which officially opened in April, is the latest addition to technology and cultural hub Michigan Central. This new concept introduces 17,000 square feet of dynamic, membership-based workspace on the mezzanine level of The Station at Michigan Central. For planners, The Michigan Central Mezz expands the facility’s on-site meeting capabilities by adding a new, highly flexible, 30-person rentable meeting space called The Retreat on The Mezz, scheduled to open in May and currently accepting bookings.

Michigan Central positions itself as an urban hub for innovation, serving as a community space where culture, technology, business, and programming converge for thousands of professionals and hundreds of companies. The Mezz provides resources through its membership model, acts as a site for connection among professionals and industries, and is well suited for forward-thinking groups and energetic gatherings.

One of the strength of Michigan Central’s unique model is that, beyond the space’s physical amenities, it has access to a professional ecosystem and network on-site, where over 240 companies and community organizations are based.

According to a representative from Michigan Central, The Mezz is designed to bring corporate teams, startups, investors, and creators side by side and caters to planners seeking an environment that sparks new ideas, above and beyond merely providing a traditional conference room. The space is great for planners who want their events immersed in the energy of forward-thinking professionals and companies.

While access to the main coworking space and its full amenities requires individual membership, booking The Retreat on The Mezz group meeting space does not. In addition to The Retreat, planners can rent Michigan Central’s ground-floor spaces, including the Grand Hall and Concourse, for large-scale events that require executive meeting space on-site. At Michigan Central, planners can tap into a growing professional ecosystem inside an iconic, historic Detroit building.
