A new event center has opened on 150 acres between Chelsea and Dexter, providing a new option for meeting planners seeking to hold gatherings in the Ann Arbor area. Called Revel Run, it features an event and wedding center with two main buildings: The Overlook and The Silo.
Accommodating up to 250 attendees, The Overlook is a brand-new 3,000-square-fooot rustic event space with vaulted ceilings, timber trusses, and massive windows providing a view of the grounds including its ponds, according to Revel Run Special Events Coordinator Tina Picklesimer.
“Doors spill open to a large deck, ideal for a cocktail hour,” Picklesimer explains. “The Overlook is outfitted with a sizeable built-in bar, well-equipped catering prep kitchen, bridal suite, groom’s suite, and restroom.”
The Silo, which can hold up to 100 guests, is a 2,400-square-foot, 150-year-old restored barn. “The Silo boasts fully exposed timber throughout, with ceilings that soar 3 stories high and large barn doors that open up to create a panoramic overlook of the … rolling property,” Picklesimer says. A large outdoor terrace features an open-air bar area suited for a relaxed cocktail hour or outdoor cookout. It’s also near the Livery Stable—the oldest structure on the complex that was built in 1880 as a livestock barn and restored in 2020.
“The Livery Stable is edged with flowering pink hydrangeas and a weeping wisteria tree, creating a gorgeous rustic backdrop,” Picklesimer says. In addition, there’s an equestrian center hosting events all year long. “Different disciplines are offered … as competitors travel across the country to compete in some of Revel Run’s national [equestrian] shows,” she explains.
Below The Overlook is The Foxhole Biergarten, which is open to the public as a community gathering spot with indoor and outdoor seating and food trucks and live bands on the schedule. With nine televisions, an indoor fireplace, and expansive garage doors opening to an outdoor fireplace, it is useable in winter and summer.
