After a $7.5 million renovation the Haworth Hotel, formerly known as the Haworth Inn and Conference Center, which is located on the campus of Hope College in Holland, Michigan, has reopened. What’s described by the college as a “transformational project” has remodeled all conference and hotel rooms, rebuilt the lobby and created a full-service coffee shop.
With 48 guestrooms and 14 conferences spaces, for a total of 10,000 square feet of meeting space, the Haworth Hotel is a blend of the commercial and the residential. The largest meeting space, the Haworth Hotel ballroom, accommodates 350 guests. Attendees wandering into the lobby between events will encounter a grand spiral staircase connecting the first two floors of the building. The lobby has been designed to encourage interaction; a variety of spots to meet, read, chat and linger create an inviting environment for both work and relaxation. Complimentary high-speed wireless internet is available throughout the entire facility.
The renovation was led by Patricia Urquiola, an award-winning designer and architect based in Milan, Italy. This is her first hotel design in the United States. Haworthhotel.com
