Instagram alert! It doesn’t get more picturesque than the Mission Point Resort, located on Mackinac Island. And after a $2 million renovation to the charming Promenade Deck Pavilion, the 241-room lakeside retreat is a more scenic spot for gatherings than ever before.
In harmony with the beauty and tranquility of Mackinac Island, where no cars are allowed, the expansive, raised pavilion area is a versatile outdoor event space with lush landscaping, refreshing lake breezes and stunning views of the Straits of Mackinac. Overlooking the Great Lawn, the Deck can accommodate up to 160 guests.
The Deck is only one of many event spaces on the 18-acre property, which is reached by ferry. In all, the resort offers 38,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. That includes the 13 event spaces in the resort’s Conference Center. Among these spaces: a wood-paneled Amphitheater accommodating up to 100 guests, an Executive Boardroom for 12 guests, and a variety of attractive rooms ideal for meetings and receptions for 50 to 125 guests. Mission Point’s ‘Main Lodge’ houses the Cypress Lodge (with a beautiful outdoor terrace), Colonial Room, and Summit Room. Mission Point also has three restaurants with outdoor dining, two coffee shops, bike rentals, a putt-putt golf course and activities that include kite flying, flower pressing and bocce ball.
To welcome guests and meeting attendees back, Mission Point subscribes to the Pure Michigan Pledge: Guidelines that were developed with input from more than 350 tourism industry professionals across the state and outline seven steps businesses in the travel industry will take to ensure a safe environment for travelers. “By taking the Pure Michigan Pledge,” the resort says, “Mission Point is committed to upholding local safety protocols and CDC travel guidelines so that all can continue to travel safely this season and beyond.” For a few moments of remote bliss, watch the resort’s live webcam.
