Michigan’s thriving wineries, distilleries and craft breweries mean planners can offer a distinctive beverage selection to clients who want their libations locally sourced. Now there’s something fun and delicious for cocktail lovers, too.
Wolf Moon is a line of fresh fruit juice mixers in flavors like Hibiscus Margarita, Watermelon Mint and Carrot Ginger. Created by Detroit-based husband-and-wife team Steve and Dorota Coy—both longtime, enthusiastic juicers—the mixers are made, bottled and distributed by McClure’s Pickles, whose bloody mary mix has international reach.
The Coys say they decided to bottle the mixers to cater to an untapped market. Store-bought mixers are often loaded with added sugar and chemicals; the craft cocktail move-ment and the push toward fresh, healthy foods made the mixers seem like the right idea at the right time.
For planners, the price is right, too: Wolf Moon retails for $9.50 for a 32-ounce jar (pick it up at Eastern Market for even less.) And the eye-catching jars will look great on your event’s bar.
