Sure, Christmas and New Year are fast approaching, but at MIM+E, what makes this time of year extra special is kicking off our Readers’ Choice Awards.
Voting is officially underway, and we hope you’ll take a minute to participate. Last year’s final voter tally was a record by a long shot, reflecting the growing support and enthusiasm for the awards. The more votes we get, the more the winners really get to crow.
We’ve added a couple of new categories this year, reflecting industry trends; you’ll notice Best Rooftop Venue and Best Sports Venue have joined the list.
We went with the same ballot format as last year, prepopulated with last year’s top picks. At the top of each category is a place to write-in your choice, if you don’t see it as an option. We had write-ins win last year, which is great – the very point of these awards is to make sure we’re recognizing the venues, companies and individuals our readers feel are truly the best at what they do.
Ballots must contain votes in at least 10 categories in order to be counted. This is to avoid vote-stacking and help ensure that votes are indeed coming from our readers and/or people knowledgeable about the industry.
Voting closes on February 2, which is coming faster that you think! As always, the winners will be announced in May at our Readers’ Choice Awards party, to be held at the Max M. Fisher Music Center in Detroit. Can’t wait!
