As autumn’s crisp air rolls into northern Michigan, Treetops Resort is preparing to usher in a new era of hospitality and event excellence. The beloved destination, recently crowned 2025 Resort of the Year at the Pure Michigan Governor’s Conference on Tourism, has announced a $500,000 renovation of its convention center—set to be unveiled this December.
Construction begins in late October, with crews transforming the space from the ground up. Attendees can expect new flooring, plush carpeting, refreshed wall coverings and finishes, upgraded lighting, and thoughtfully curated furniture and artwork. This is more than a facelift—it’s also the first phase of a multistage plan to transform the resort’s group function spaces with greater warmth, elegance, and a sense of togetherness.

“This renovation is about more than aesthetics,” says Mike Flynn, director of sales at Treetops Resort. “It’s about creating an environment where people feel inspired to connect, collaborate, and celebrate. We’re recreating spaces that reflect the spirit of Treetops and the needs of our guests.”
The timing couldn’t be better. In addition to the accolade at the Pure Michigan Governor’s Conference, the resort’s recent Resort of the Year award from the Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association has Treetops riding a wave of recognition for its commitment to excellence. The convention center upgrade is a tangible extension of that promise—one that event planners, corporate groups, and wedding parties will soon experience firsthand.

For those looking ahead to 2026, now is the perfect moment to schedule a site visit and tour the revitalized space. Whether you’re planning a conference, retreat, or celebration, Treetops’ new convention center is poised to elevate every gathering.
