Meeting and event planners seeking a stylish, small-scale venue on Lake Michigan now have a new option. The historic Wickwood Inn, an 11-room boutique hotel positioned along Michigan’s “Art Coast” in Saugatuck, has introduced The Bungalow, a detached three-bedroom guesthouse designed for private, small-group stays.
Set within English-style gardens and just steps from downtown restaurants, galleries, beaches, and shops, The Bungalow offers a serene setting for retreats, team-building trips, and other intimate celebrations. Each guest room features marble-clad en suites, curated antiques, and original art, while common spaces include a living room and access to a shared pool and spa. Bungalow guests also are encouraged to take advantage of the inn’s gardens and amenities.
Groups can book The Bungalow on its own or pair it with the inn’s 11 newly renovated rooms for a full-estate buyout accommodating up to 28 guests. Owned and designed by Chicago-based Soucie Horner Design Collective, Wickwood Inn blends residential comfort with high-end details. For guests, the property offers a farm-to-table breakfast by Executive Chef Rose Duong—who also serves as the inn’s general manager—a daily social hour with artisanal cheeses and charcuterie, in-house massages, private sailing excursions, and more, plus complimentary Wi-Fi and private parking.
“Rich in history, Saugatuck is a beautiful and special destination to visit in Michigan, offering a variety of nature-focused activities, local food and drinks, arts, culture, and much more,” Duong says in a prepared statement. “Wickwood Inn affords guests a perfect place to stay and experience it all.”
Rates start at $349 per night, with a variety of room options including standard guest rooms (200-240 square feet), junior suites (300-310 square feet), and estate suites (410-450 square feet). Event space is available upon request.
