MGM Grand Detroit is reinforcing its role as a hospitality leader with a new $20 million capital investment focused on luxury upgrades and guest experience enhancements across its hotel rooms, casino, spa, and public spaces. This latest round of renovations—building on $15 million in improvements completed last year—reflects the resort’s long-term strategy to stay at the forefront of the region’s meeting and events landscape.

“MGM Resorts International and the entire team at MGM Grand Detroit are deeply committed to enhancing the guest experience throughout all aspects of the property in an effort to drive consistent and continued visitation to the region,” says Matt Buckley, president and chief operating officer of MGM Resorts International Midwest Group (Midwest sector of the resort’s parent company), in a prepared statement. “We’re proud to have played a key role in Detroit’s emergence as a premier entertainment and hospitality destination, and this next phase of investment reflects our unwavering commitment to pushing that momentum even further.”

As part of this initiative, all 65 of the hotel’s premium suites will be refreshed with new furnishings, finishes, and appliances. A broader renovation will also extend to all 400 guest rooms, which will receive new couches, desks, mattresses, and refrigerators.

Within the Immerse Spa, the fitness center will be upgraded with new equipment, while the pool area will receive new cabanas designed for comfort and relaxation.

The resort’s upgrade also extends to the gaming floor, where a complete overhaul of the HVAC systems will improve air quality. Plus, the relocation of the MGM Rewards desk to a more accessible area near the self-parking entrances will streamline access for frequent guests and loyalty members.
