New Orleans was recently named the No. 1 most budget-friendly destination in the country by Travel + Leisure. While many people tend to plan trips around Mardi Gras, there are many other reasons to travel down south this fall. The Aloft New Orleans Downtown’s current discounts are just a few of those reasons.
The Crawford Hotel, located in the historical and recently renovated Denver Union Station, has expanded their tour program of the train station. The tour, previously offered biweekly, will now be offered weekly on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 1 p.m. The tour will feature Denver’s transportation, artwork, shops and restaurants located in the station, along with some of the unique rooms in the hotel.
A recent study conducted by Allianz Travel Insurance, found that more than 170 million Americans haven’t taken a vacation in the last year. That’s more than half of the population—53 percent, to be exact!
However, this is down from last year when 56 percent of respondents noted they hadn't taken a vacation in the last year.

Philadelphia. Close to 1 million people are expected to head to the area for the 8th World Meeting of Families. The pope will host a Papal Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul upon arrival and attend the World Meeting of Families later that evening.
Four years after it met in Philadelphia, Lightfair International will again convene at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in 2017.
Lightfair is the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference; it first met in Philly in 2011. The event’s return signifies the effectiveness of the convention center’s new business model.
