The fast-casual Chicago-style food concept, Portillo’s, will be opening its first Minnesota location at 8450 Hudson Rd. in Woodbury at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11. The new location marks the brand’s 50th restaurant opening.

The restaurant will feature a 1920s theme with décor inspired by the Prohibition era. The restaurant will include seating for more than 200 guests, with double drive-thru lanes and an outdoor patio.

The menu will feature Portillo’s classic favorites, including Chicago-style Hot Dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, char-grilled burgers, fresh salads and Portillo’s famous Chocolate Cake.

Guests can register for a chance to get a sneak peek training meal prior to opening by signing up at portillos.com/woodbury.

In light of COVID-19, a survey commissioned by the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) discovered that 44 percent of Americans are planning leisure trips or overnight travel before the end of 2020.

This fall, chef Jorge Guzman will open a new restaurant, Petite León, in the former Blackbird Cafe space in South Minneapolis. The restaurant will serve dishes with Mexican, Spanish, French, and American influences, that aim to be approachable, creative and delicious.

Coming to the historic Fort Worth Stockyards this fall, Hotel Drover is a 200-room Autograph Collection boutique hotel and rustic resort. Named for the legendary drovers, who roamed the Texas plains for decades moving livestock over long distances, Hotel Drover is a celebration of the stockyards’ Western legacy. The property will include 40,000 square feet of indoor “rustic luxe” and outdoor meeting and event space.
