Bellagala of St. Paul purchased the Cedarhurst Mansion in Cottage Grove, Minnesota, and the company will renovate the venue and gardens, reopening them for events next year. Cedarhurst Mansion is scheduled to host its first event on May 1, 2027, marking an exciting new chapter for this cherished estate.
Long admired for its character, setting, and sense of place, Cedarhurst Mansion holds a special place in the community of Cottage Grove. With ownership now secured, Bellagala is moving ahead with clarity and long-term commitment, restoring the mansion with thoughtful intention while honoring the history that makes it so meaningful.
A central focus of the restoration will be the mansion’s historic rose garden, one of the property’s most defining features. Overlooking the garden, a planned 4,000-square-foot atrium addition will complement the estate’s architecture, creating a light-filled space that seamlessly connects the beauty of the outdoors with the elegance of the interior.
Last fall, Bellagala made the difficult decision to step away from the project when unexpected historic preservation limitations, mechanical considerations, and other challenges expanded the scope of work beyond what could be addressed responsibly at that time. Following that decision, the City of Cottage Grove provided continued support and worked alongside Bellagala to reevaluate a path forward. With a revised framework now in place, the project can fully address the challenges that previously halted progress, creating the stability needed to move forward with confidence and long-term readiness.
