On Sept. 25 from 5 to 7 p.m., Experience Rochester will host a gathering for meeting planners at King Coil Spirits in St. Paul called “This Is Rochester. Really.” The event will feature food, drinks, and entertainment, all sourced from Rochester.

Bill Von Bank, vice president of marketing and communications for Experience Rochester, says, “The event is a way to bring Rochester to the forefront, specifically for meeting planners and business leaders in the Twin Cities. It will showcase maybe a different Rochester than many are used to. They are going to get a flavor of Rochester. We will bring in some of our restaurants, bars, and craft breweries. We will be sampling our beers and foods, and enjoying live entertainment. We also will have a few things that highlight and showcase Rochester, so the next time a planner is putting out a request for proposal, maybe Rochester becomes a part of that.”

Von Bank also notes Experience Rochester operates the Mayo Civic Center convention center, which is on a compact campus downtown and connected by the city’s skyway system to 2,000 hotel rooms. Rochester International Airport is served by Delta Air Lines and American Airlines, and the city is 80 miles from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

“Rochester is a very walkable, friendly, and safe community,” Von Bank says. “We are a great option for meeting and event planners not just in the Twin Cities, but really from anywhere.”

The Sept. 25 event is free of charge. Planners and business leaders wishing to attend are asked to RSVP at experiencerochestermn.com/thisisrochester.
