Both Grand Casino Mille Lacs in Onamia and Grand Casino Hinckley in Hinckley will see multimillion-dollar renovations to guest rooms, suites, and lobbies, with construction slated through this summer. Each redesigned guest room will offer a modern ambience with hints of Ojibwe culture, including artwork from Indigenous artists.
“Our work is rooted in our commitment to the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe,” says Joe Nayquonabe, CEO of Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures, the parent company of both casinos. “This renovation project has been carefully selected with their interests in mind. Our goal is to enhance our casino hotel properties, ensuring that they remain leading destinations in the region, offering great experiences to all who visit.”
Both casino hotels will remain open during the renovations, as work will progress floor by floor. The casino hotels boast ballrooms ranging in capacity from 1,600 to 2,300 meeting-goers and offer catering, bar service, audiovisual equipment, golf and other outdoor activities, and full-service casinos.
