In April, Minneapolis-St. Paul-based Sun Country Airlines received the inaugural North Star Award at the Make-A-Wish Minnesota’s annual Wish Ball at the Mystic Lake Center in Prior Lake. The award is designed to recognize businesses that have significantly given their time, talent, or resources to help the nonprofit fulfill its mission and work toward its vision of reaching every eligible child in Minnesota.
“We couldn’t think of a better inaugural award recipient than Sun Country Airlines,” says Paul Krueger, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Minnesota, in a prepared statement. “Sun Country’s generosity has allowed thousands of travel wishes to take place. The company and its employees are true champions of our mission to grant wishes to children with critical illnesses.”
Since 2006, Sun Country Airlines has partnered with Make–A-Wish Minnesota to provide complimentary flights for wish children and their families. To date, the airline has provided more than $2 million in flights.
