Four Seasons Minneapolis to Open in June 2022

By M+E Staff

Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Minneapolis, located in a new 34-story building at the top of Nicollet Mall, the city’s pedestrian thoroughfare, is expected to open its doors in June 2022. Only a few short blocks from the Mississippi River, the mixed-use complex also will serve as RBC Wealth Management’s U.S. headquarters.

The Highlights

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in partnership with United Properties, a commercial property development and investment company headquartered in Minneapolis, have teamed up to make the project a reality. The 222-room Four Seasons Hotel will feature a signature dining experience and a welcoming lobby café helmed by award-winning local Chef Gavin Kaysen, two outdoor pools, and a rooftop bar and grill.

With close to 20,000 square feet of function space, business and social groups can book the grand ballroom with an adjoining outdoor terrace, a second ballroom and a series of smaller meeting rooms.

In addition, 34 Four Seasons Private Residences with striking views of the city and Mississippi River are located on the uppermost floors of the building.

“Minneapolis is a booming corporate hub in the Midwest, and has a vibrant leisure, cultural and arts scene, and we look forward to creating a place for locals and visitors alike to come together while raising the standard of luxury and service in the city,” says Bart Carnahan, executive vice president of global business development and portfolio management for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. “Our partners at United Properties have envisioned a new luxury focal point in Minneapolis, and we look forward to helping them bring that vision to life.”

“This new property sits on the best location in the city, with historic roots on the site of the former Nicollet Hotel, and in the centre of the excitement and bustle of downtown Minneapolis,” adds Bill Katter, president and chief investment officer of United Properties Development,

Leadership Team

Four Seasons has announced the appointments of two company veterans to the property’s leadership team. General Manager Florian Riedel arrives from Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley at East Palo Alto, where he held the same role. Born and educated in Germany, the multilingual Riedel began his Four Seasons career at one of the company’s flagship locations in London, before moving through progressive positions in Berlin, the Bahamas, Hawaii and California.

Having previously worked together in Hawaii, Riedel’s first hire in his new role is Chris White, director of marketing. His resume features positions at several leading luxury hotel brands.
