Old-World Style Meets Nouveau flair

Cafe and Bar Lurcat in downtown Minneapolis is an elegant, multifaceted haven for food lovers looking to host an event. This chic, yet urban venue offers delectable cuisine and three private event spaces—and for their special events, Cafe and Bar Lurcat partners with D’Amico Catering, a Twin Cities hospitality company that has served the area for over 30 years.

For larger groups, the bar is an expansive meeting space. It can hold up to 225 guests and opens up to a spacious outdoor patio overlooking Loring Park. This multifaceted space allows for an abundance of natural light that Christie Altendorf, director of marketing and senior event planner with D’Amico Catering, says, “You can’t find at any other venue.” Alternatively, the intimate cafe is comfortable for about 150 people. This private space brings all the charm with the exposed kitchen, where guests can get a behind-the-scenes glimpse at what the culinary team is preparing.

For smaller corporate events, it offers a romantic dining room for up to 50 people set in the center of the restaurant. The gorgeous floor-to-ceiling windows create the ideal ambiance for an incredible foodie experience. Similar to the bar side, groups can use a separate patio in  conjunction with the private dining room. This patio is tucked behind the restaurant and offers views of an alleyway lined with buildings constructed at the turn of the 19th century.

Altendorf explains that a variety of butler-passed and -stationed hors d’oeuvres works best for cocktail hours at private events. She adds, “It’s nice for people to have light bites while they have a drink in hand.” Guests will then be provided three signature entree options. That way, says Altendorf, “Whatever tastes they may be feeling that night, they can move forward with.”
