Radisson Blu Mall of America in Bloomington hired Alberto Abreu as general manager in early January. In this role, he is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction to all areas of the hotel.

With extensive experience in the hospitality industry, Abreu has a strength in leadership and an enthusiastic spirit to cultivate environments and teams that succeed, the hotel says in a prepared statement. Abreu comes to Minnesota from Oklahoma City where he was the general manager of the Ennismore–Accor Group’s 21c Museum Hotel Oklahoma City. 21 c Museum Hotels is a chain of boutique hotels coupled with multivenue contemporary museums and chef-driven restaurants.

“It’s a dream to start the next chapter of my career at this unique property where there are endless possibilities to create moments that matter to our guests,” says Abreu. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to join this talented, dedicated team, and I’m ready to dig in.”

Throughout his 36-year hospitality career, Abreu has held leadership positions including front office manager, managing director, and vice president of hospitality. He has also worked for several international hotels based in the Caribbean, including Casa de Campo Beach Resort in the Dominican Republic, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort in Jamaica, and Tortuga Bay Hotel and Punta Cana Resort & Club in the Dominican Republic.

In 2006, Abreu settled in Punta Cana first as general manager of both hotels in the resort, then as executive managing director, and in 2016 was named vice president of hospitality for the Punta Cana Resort & Club where he managed the operations, budgeting, and strategic planning of the hospitality areas in that resort.

“Alberto’s previous experience at a variety of high-end properties makes him a dynamic leader who can empower staff and enrich the Radisson Blu brand,” says Kate Anastasi, director of sales and marketing at Radisson Blu Mall of America. “We are honored to have him join our team. Throughout his impressive career, he has created environments that foster creativity and encourage growth and development of human talent, all while providing guests the highest level of service—something I know he will continue to do here as well.”
