Three Unforgettable Places to Gather

By M+E Staff

When asking for news from the U.S. Mountain West, I hit the jackpot with three suggestions for truly memorable venues for meetings and events. You might want to get booking quick, as they’ll go fast!

OREGON

Set on 640 acres amongst central Oregon’s 1,000-year-old juniper forest and surrounded by the Cascade Mountain Range, Juniper Preserve and its boutique hotel Juniper Lodge in Bend have two of the most unique event spaces in the Pacific Northwest.

The property’s on-site lava cave, one of the only public lava tubes in Deschutes County, is its newest event space. It’s ideal for one-of-a-kind group dinners and meetings, complete with a farm-to-table menu and artisan-crafted cocktails.

With panoramic views of Pronghorn Golf Club courses and the Cascade Mountain Range, the 7,000-square-foot private Event Island can accommodate groups of up to 250. The Event Lawn, is a natural accompaniment to the island and can hold an additional 250 guests.

IDAHO

Named for its 179 windows, The Glass House in McCall was built in 1960 as the office for Brown Tie and Lumber Co. Today, this iconic building overlooking Payette Lake has been renovated to offer a unique lodging option and event space. Operated by Hotel McCall, the property reopened in 2021 and has three distinct meeting and event spaces totaling 4,100 square feet as well as three bedrooms and two bathrooms for overnight stays. Additional lodging is available at Hotel McCall, only a five-minute walk away.

UTAH

Treat your group to an evening that begins with a guided snowshoe tour through a moonlit forest and ends at Solitude Mountain Resort’s yurt. At the destination, a multi-course dinner begins around the outdoor fire and continues within the comfort of the yurt, watching the chef make preparations. Skiers and snowboarders can enjoy lunch at the yurt during the day. Solitude is 30 miles southeast of Salt Lake City.
