By M+E Staff

The St. Regis Deer Valley announced the recent appointments of Edward Shapard as general manager and Brandon S. Hendricks as director of sales and marketing.

Shapard is the former general manager of Elbow Beach Bermuda. In his time there he served on the boards of the Bermuda Hotel Association, the Bermuda National Museum and the Bermuda Tourism Board. Shapard has also served in managerial positions with Starwood Hotels’ Westin; Sheraton Brands in Stamford, Connecticut and New Orleans; and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in New York, Hong Kong and Bermuda.

“It is an honor to be given the opportunity to lead The St. Regis Deer Valley and its cherished traditions of service and luxury,” said Shapard. “I look forward to being part of this incredibly beautiful mountain destination and extending the St. Regis culture of exceeding expectations.”

Hendricks’ 20-year marketing background includes Hyatt Hotels, MGM Resorts’ Bellagio, and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. Hendricks was most recently with Sage Hospitality Resources, where he served as area director of sales and marketing supervisor for several luxury hotels.

The St. Regis Deer Valley opened in December 2009. It features a J&G Grill, a 13,000-bottle wine vault, the 14,000 square foot Remède Spa, and the 40-foot Fire Garden on the Mountain Terrace.
