Sunset Happy Hours & Wellness Activities at Taliesen West

By M+E Staff

Looking for something a little different to plug your group into and a venue they will be talking about long after a gathering concludes? Taliesin West in Scottsdale, Arizona, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the winter home and laboratory of architect Frank Lloyd Wright, might be the solution with its Sunsets and Sips and Wellness Series

From October through May, on the second and fourth Thursday of each monthguests can linger and mingle with a beverage in hand during Sunsets and Sips happy hour. Held on The Prow, an outdoor space overlooking Camelback Mountain and the city, the two-hour event provides a different portion of the Taliesin West campus to explore each time, with all tickets including a complimentary wine, beer, or soda.

The beautiful gardens and serene pathways help set the stage for guided Wellness Series options such as yoga, tai chi, meditation, and hiking. Wellness Series activities take place the first Saturday of every month from 10–11 a.m., and the third Tuesday of every month from 5:30–6:30 p.m.

Set on 491 acres, Taliesin West is a prime example of Wright’s organic architecture as all the structures were built from the rocks and sand of the Sonoran Desert and meld into the lower McDowell Mountains. The grounds and buildings were constructed over a period of approximately 20 years by Frank Lloyd Wright and his apprentices.

Another option is booking a private experience at one of many other venues at Taliesin West, which can host groups of up to 350. In addition to The Prow, Sunken Garden, and Sunset Terrace (three adjoining areas), choose from  the Garden Squares, The Pergola, The Music Pavilion and Terrace, The Cabaret, and The Kiva.
