Go back in time with barbecue dinners out on the range.

Buffalo Bill Center of the West – Cody, Wyoming

Chuckwagon dinners for groups of up to 24 take place on the west side of Robbie Powwow Garden. The fire-cooked menu includes steak, biscuits, beans, salad, and a Dutch-oven dessert such as cobbler or cinnamon rolls. Along with getting a taste of what it was like for cowboys eating meals on the range, guests learn about the area’s history and are treated to legendary Wild West stories. A variety of groups, ranging from gatherings of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association to private events for Stephen Ambrose Historical Tours, has booked unforgettable chuckwagon dinners.

Roosevelt Lodge & Cabins –Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Located inside Yellowstone National Park at Tower Junction, Roosevelt Lodge & Cabins offers an authentic Old West cookout. Guests can choose from a one- or two-hour horseback excursion or a covered wagon ride to the dinner destination. The venue can host more than 275 for a steak dinner complete with coleslaw, potato salad, baked beans, corn, corn muffins, watermelon, fruit crisp, and assorted beverages, including cowboy coffee. Guests are sure to romanticize the Old West while eating at picnic tables and listening to an authentic cowboy singer.
